The Prize and Betting Office of the Ministry of Finance has issued Ordinance (Portaria) SPA/MF No. 561/2024, published on April 10, establishing its Regulatory Policy and Regulatory Agenda for 2024.
Among the topics mentioned in the Regulatory Agenda, the agenda indicates as a Phase 1 priority (April 2024) the issuance of the regulations establishing rules, conditions and opening of the process for companies to request authorization for the exploitation of fixed odds lottery.
Ordinance (Portaria) SPA/MF No. 561/2024 also establishes the priority and timeframes for issuing regulations on payment mechanisms, bettors rights and operator’s obligations, inspections, among other relevant matters for the fixed odd bets scenario in Brazil.
