ICC publishes model online business-to-consumer (B2C) conditions of sale for new online sellers

--

The International Chamber of Commerce has recently prepared a very helpful tool for companies that are opening e-commerce operations.

It has published (and made available for free) a set of model online business-to-consumer (B2C) conditions of sale, to be adapted by each company.

Brazil has been the only country outside Europe to prepare an Annex commenting on the adaptations required under local laws. Our partner Adriano Chaves headed the efforts of the Brazilian ICC task force, together with Gilberto Martins de Almeida, in the review of such documents under the light of Brazilian law.

The work counted on the important contribution of all members of the local task force (José Gabriel Assis de Almeida, Silvia Julio Bueno de Miranda, Esther Jerussalmy Cunha, Fabrício Bertini Pasquot Polido, and Mickael Viglino), the local ICC team (Gabriella Dorlhiac and Leonardo Carmignani Barbosa), and Emily O’Connor.

The next step is the preparation of “localized” conditions of sale in Portuguese, to be released in due course.
